Page: • 1 • • I have five ukuleles: -a Leolani Zebra wood tenor that i Tuned to a baritone -a Luna tattoo pineapple ukulele -a Luna high tide tenor -a solid mahogany ukulele that I got in Hawaii eight years ago - & a Lanikai Concert mahogany. As pretty as the fender koa ukulele looks, the playability of it kind of sucks.

Both of my tenors don't look as cool as this one does but they both play extremely well. Much much much better than the fender; however they were more expensive. Personally I believe that you would get more value out of playing a Luna Tenor, Islander tenor and Lanikai tenor or even a Kala if you're looking for a ukulele that's cost-efficient. But it's American culture and a lot of Americans look for instruments that are more aesthetically pleasing.

Real musicians look for instruments that play well, feel well, have a good body to neck proportion, they sound well, they're well-crafted and on top of that they look nice. If you want a ukulele that looks nice then this is the ukulele for you. But if you want ukulele that plays nice, for an intermediate or advanced player, I recommend that you look more towards use that aren't known for their pretty abalone or their clean gloss finishes.
