Fatal Error During Installation Microsoft Office 2013
How good is this.? In place upgrade not working? As a MS partner i can't wait to try to explain to customer or cope with this:( i have been working with office 2013 preview for 2 months and it worked great. Now the latest Office install lync2013 but does not upgrade lync 2010 (i had to uninstall it manually) and even worse i had my first BSOD in months at the end of the install and then couldn't uninstall repair or uinsttall.

I have used system restore to move back to 2010 (few) now i am trying one last time. I feel like the beta and the RTM have been mixed up for release. Same problem here. Office 2010 32 bit upgrade to Office 2013 64 bit. Office 2013 will not let you install with Office 2010 32 bit, so you must remove it. However something probably does not uninstall correctly. When I attempted to install Office 2013, install hung at 20% for hours.
It allowed me to cancel, but the cancel then hung. After a reboot and several other attempts to install, I then tried the manual uninstall (found elsewhere) of what parts of Office 2013 had installed in order to get back to Office 2010. When I clicked on it to 'Repair' it, it said it was not installed, would I like to remove it from the list.
Instead I then clicked the Uninstall and it removed it from the list. That got rid of the bootstrapper error message and the installation for Office 2013 64 bit went ahead and it is now installed.
