I've tried to get new breedz on my Catz 5 game but it doesn't seem to work. I've downloaded some breedz and put them in the 'Catz' folder in the 'Resource' folder but they're not showing up at the Adoption Center.
The files also are 'WinRAR ZIP' if that means anything (I'm technologically handicapped when it comes to this sort of thing). Can you help? Thanks:) Sorry, the delay came from moving to college and subsequent computer failure. It’s up and running, so here’s an illustrated run-down!
To sum it up, you just need to “unzip” your WinRAR ZIP folder and you’ll be good. A “zipped” or compressed file has basically been scrunched up to take less memory, but programs usually don’t know how to look at the scrunched up file without you unscrunching it for them. So, once you find breedz that you want online, click the link on the website to download the files.
You can save them anywhere you want. My Petz Extras folder is all my junk not being used in-game as well as pictures, and so I made a Breedz folder to store breedz that I’ll use in the future. (I also saved an image of the breed so I remember what it looks like.) You could just download the.zip file to your default Downloads folder and work from there, or it’s okay to put it directly in your Resource Catz folder as long as you remove what you don’t need when you’re done. We’ll go over that in a second. The fast route is to right-click the zipped file in your folder and select “Extract files' (Selecting 'extract here” will also work if you just want to extract it to the same folder you’re in.) This is the menu where you can pick where to “extract” your files to, or unscrunch them as I said earlier.
Extract is the real term, haha. You can also get to this menu by double-clicking the file and finding the “extract to” button in the WinRAR menu. I highlighted the portion of the file that shows where my.zip file currently is. That was the default location is suggests unzipping to. It’s going to be making a new folder with the same name as the.zip file to extract it to.
